Backyard Campout
We got a new tent at the end of summer last year so we never got a chance to use it. When the weather finally started to warm up we were so excited to try it out, but there was one obstacle...we now had a baby. I'm all for camping in a tent (even without a flushing toilet or running water), but camping with a baby...uh, no thanks. So, we compromised. We pulled out the sleeping bags and pitched the tent right in the backyard. That way baby can sleep in her own cozy bed and we can "rough it" out in the tent. So it was still camping...justTroop Beverly Hills style. We even grabbed the laptop and watched a movie and could use our own bathroom anytime we wanted. Oh, and if the ground got too hard we could have jumped into our own cozy beds, but we persevered. Even with the huge wind storm that blew through in the early hours of the morning and the pitter-patter of the rain drops, we stuck it out. Real pioneers I tell ya. Chloe was even quite the girl scout. What about Alanna? No worries, we had the monitor with us so we could be at her side at the drop of a dime. I must say I liked the backyard campout and would do it again in a heartbeat. I mean who wouldn't want the fun part of camping and still get a shower first thing in the morning.

That looks like so much fun! And I agree that is the best kind of camping.
